So we haven’t posted a new episode in quite a while. Did we die? No. I am happy to report that we are both alive and well. But we were both starting to feel burned out and so it was time for a little break. The show will return, we are just figuring out our busy lives and finding the right path to set forward on. Thank you for your patience and keep checking back for future updates.
Folks it is that time of the year again. The time when you, our wonderful listeners, can join us for a live recording of the Friday Night Film Fights podcast. So free up your calenders, grab some friends, and do yourself a favor and watch Point Break (1991) and The Fast and The Furious (2001).

Our twentieth episode is arriving this Friday and once again we are doing something special. We chose two of the most popular bad movies and are throwing them in a poorly constructed arena so they may fight to the death. The themes of the week are: Language barriers on set, Scripts failing to portray normalcy, Non-actors attempting to act, and Face-palm worthy dialogue. Tune in this Friday and see which movie is truly the best worst movie.
Buy Bloodsport on Amazon Watch Kickboxer on Amazon
The themes of the week are : Doing the splits, visiting an Asian country, doing jumping splits kicks, hard work and training pays off, having an older man employ bondage techniques to elongate your groin so that you may perform the splits even better, and avenging your fallen friend. Check out the two movies that launched Jean Claude Van Damme’s career before they both get awful reboots.
Note: It seems that Bloodsport is temporarily unavailable to stream so I temporarily changed the link to the DVD.
Watch Three Amigos on Amazon Watch Galaxy Quest on Amazon
The themes of the week are: Actors being mistaken for the real thing then deciding to become the real thing, and Hollywood’s self-celebration. We have two movies with almost exactly the same construction and theme, the only real differences between the two films are the when and the where. So folks we have a battle between a Western that celebrates the hokey yet hearty silent film and a Science Fiction piece that offers a critique and a celebration of Star Trek and other classic Sci-Fi pieces .
We have a special guest host this week to help us dissect these films: Mr. Max Well. We hope to have Max on as a frequent quest as he is a professional cinematographer and a Chapman Film Alum with a lot to say about film and the industry. Give the films a watch and then tune in this Friday to hear how this fight goes down.
Watch Clueless on Amazon Watch Emma on Amazon
Here we have two movies based on the same Jane Austen novel, “Emma”, films about a matchmaker who just can’t seem to make a proper match for herself! We here at Friday Night Film Fight’s needed a female voice to help us out on this episode so we were aided by special guest Leslie Crystal. Watch the movies when you get a chance and check back this Friday for a very special episode!
Watch Encino Man on Amazon Watch Blast from the Past on Amazon
Brendan Frasier is a man who loves to play fish-out-of-water characters in his films. He just so happened to do two films with almost the same premise: A man from the past is brought to modern times and teaches all the modern kids what being cool is really all about. Check out these two flicks that helped put Brendan Frasier on the map and you can enjoy the weezing of the juice and learn what the true purpose of good manners are. Then check back in this Friday when the next episode of the podcast goes live and join in on the discussion!
